I NEED AN APPOINTMENT TO LOOK AT WEDDING
GOWNS?
Yes, we do not permit self-service.
With an appointment we are prepared
for your visit and are guaranteed a
fitting room to try on your
selections. We do accommodate
walk-ins but appointments are always
given preference.
WHO SHOULD I BRING WITH ME TO MY
APPOINTMENT?
When shopping for a wedding gown all
the experts advise not to bring too
many people. Bring one or two people
who are close to you and that will
give you their honest opinion. In
the end the only opinion that truly
counts when picking a wedding gown
is YOURS! You will be the center of
attention at your wedding. You are
the only one who will know when you
have found the gown of your dreams.
CAN I BUY A DRESS OUT OF STOCK OR DO I
HAVE TO ORDER IT?
Yes, you can buy any dress you see
out of stock providing it is a
sellable dress.
SHOULD I LOOK FOR MY WEDDING GOWN AND MY
BRIDESMAIDS’ DRESSES ON THE SAME DAY?
We suggest you not try to shop for
bridesmaids and a wedding gown all
in the same day. Finding that
perfect gown can be harder, more
time consuming, and more mentally
exhausting than you think. We
suggest you focus on your wedding
gown first, check out our entire
selection bridesmaids’ dresses
before you leave and plan a separate
day for the bridesmaids shopping.
WILL I ACTUALLY BE ABLE TO GO THROUGH
THE RACKS AND SEE FOR MYSELF ALL THE
DRESSES LILY’S HAS TO OFFER?
Absolutely! Many of our customers
have complained that at other bridal
stores they are put into a dressing
room and the store employee goes to
another room to select gowns she
thinks the future bride will like.
At Carmen’s you and your personal
bridal consultant will go through
the racks together to review,
discuss and choose the wedding gowns
you wish to try on.
WHAT SIZE SHOULD I ORDER?
Bridal sizes usually differ from
regular dress sizes. Your bridal
consultant will take your
measurements and compare your
measurements to the size chart of
the company you will be purchasing
your dress. All dresses will need to
be altered in some way. By taking
your measurements, we are simply
trying to find a size that will need
the least amount of alterations. We
will help you choose a size, but the
final decision on size is yours.
HOW MUCH TIME SHOULD I ALLOW FOR
ORDERING A BRIDAL GOWN AND BRIDESMAIDS
DRESSES?
Delivery times vary upon designer &
stock availability. It is a good
idea to order your bridal gown at
least 6 - 8 months in advance.
Typically a gown will take 4-5
months to come in and then you will
need to allow a couple of months for
your alterations. And, in case of a
mistake or a flaw, there is still a
little extra time to take care of
it! However, if you have a quickly
approaching wedding and don't have
that much time, some designers do
have stock available for a speedy or
even immediate delivery. Bridesmaids
usually take 3-4 months for delivery
and generally 1 month for
alterations. Rush service is
available with many designers for
Bridal and Bridesmaids.
HOW WILL MY OUT OF TOWN BRIDESMAIDS
ORDER THEIR DRESSES?
Our Bridesmaids out of town
measurement form is available on our
website. Once all measurements and
deposits are received the order will
placed. After the dresses come in we
can ship them to a bridesmaid at
their expense.
DOES CARMEN’S BRIDAL PRICE MATCH?
Though some Internet prices may seem
enticing, you'll find that you get
what you pay for when comparing the
services offered. A dress that costs
$500 online is delivered to your
door in a box. Your dress is in
plastic wrap and un-pressed. That
same dress at a full service bridal
salon could cost $750.00. At
Carmen’s Bridal your dress is
inspected from top to bottom before
you are contacted. Your dress will
be lightly pressed and stored in a
breathable gown bag at our store
until your event. Your dress will be
pressed again before your wedding if
requested for free. By purchasing
from a full service bridal salon,
you have the luxury of trying on
several styles, receiving personal
assistance in choosing your size and
having your questions answered.
Plus, Carmen’s Bridal is a one-stop
bridal salon where you'll find a
wide selection of bridesmaids
dresses, jewelry, shoes,
undergarments, tuxedos and wedding
day accessories. Carmen’s also
offers fittings with a local
seamstress.
SHOULD I GET A SITTER FOR THE KIDS?
We strongly advise you not bring
children to a bridal store. Your
wedding gown decision is the most
important decision you will make for
your wedding. For the rest of your
life you will be looking at pictures
of yourself in that special gown.
When shopping for that gown you need
to be able to focus and concentrate
without distractions. A bridal salon
is not a fun place for kids and they
will get bored very quickly and
distract you from this important
decision. A bridal salon is also NOT
a safe place for children due to
loose pins and other hazards.
